A delayed start on a Constable course after a sharp frost. A number of temp tees where 2 foot gimmies were allowed and tap ins on main greens. Todays conditions didn’t seem to challenge John R with an outstanding 47 points - reports indicate that this should have been 50 !!
1st John Russell 47 points
2nd Mal Jones 44 pts
3rd John Jardine 43 pts
A massive thank you to Malcolm N and his booking elves for both master minding the Swindle during 2021 and arranging to book tees - many thanks, very much appreciated. 👏👏👏
Wednesday 15th December
Today’s swindle was played on the Gainsborough course. Despite being wet underfoot on a lot of the fairways, the greens continue to be good quality. Our resident golf machinery guru, Mark Clark, informs me that they’ve all been hand cut. This must have helped the great scoring today

2nd Martin Brown with 40 points
3rd = both with 38 were Trevor Waterhouse and Alan Finlayson
Wednesday 8th December

After today’s frosty start, the greenkeepers worked their magic on Gainsborough to what can only be described as the best November greens we’ve ever played on. Well done chaps.

4th Rod Harman with 37
Monday 15th November
Today’s swindle was played on the Constable course, the greens were in particularly good condition for the time of year.
Robin Nicholson has ask me to try and make people more aware of their pace of play, 5 hours for a four ball is not acceptable. There are a number of ways to speed up play, ready golf is one and the most obvious one is if you can’t score then you must pick up. You should be up behind the group in front and aim to play each hole in 13 minutes.
Let’s not get our swindle group a bad name
Winners today:
1st Norman Davidson 41
2nd Graham Vandervord 39
3rd Rogers Davies and Fleuty 37
