Gill Jones 🌺

We are very sad to advise our members of the passing of Gill Jones on the 20th September. Gill was married to our long standing Seniors member, Merv Jones, and was herself Ladies Captain and a very active member at Stoke by Nayland for many years.

Both Gill and Merv have suffered with their health for the past 3 / 4 years and were being looked after in a care home in Colchester where Gill died today with Merv at her side.

The thoughts of all of our members are with Merv and his family at this difficult time.

The funeral is on 1st November at 12.30 Colchester Crematorium then after at the golf club. Not sure yet if Merv will be strong enough to attend.   Graham Soar recently visited Mervyn and although he is weak and very upset he is in good spirits.
